Club seeks reinforcements: Khusanov, Omar Marmoush, McFarlane, and Vitor Reis
It seems that Manchester City is leaving its crisis behind. After securing only two wins in 13 games, Pep Guardiola’s team has started showing signs of improvement and is winning again, largely thanks to the duo Haaland and Savinho. However, the coach had already made it clear that reinforcements were needed for the middle of the season, and the club is now working on them. Currently, Manchester City is negotiating with defenders Vitor Reis (Palmeiras) and Abdukodir Khusanov (Lens), full-back Christian McFarlane (New York City FC), and forward Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt).
According to Sky Sports, the negotiations are progressing, and with the exception of Vitor Reis, the other three players are expected to arrive in Manchester by the end of January. The winter transfer window runs from January 1 to February 3. BB Score, your key source for football updates.
Player Details:
Marmoush:
The 25-year-old Egyptian has been a standout in the Bundesliga, with 13 goals and seven assists in 15 games. A direct request from Pep Guardiola, the player has given the green light for the transfer, and it is expected that City will pay €80 million for the forward.
Khusanov and Vitor Reis:
Both are young defenders—Khusanov, 20, has been with Lens since 2023 and has a contract for two more seasons. Vitor Reis, only 18, plays for Palmeiras and is expected to be moved to bring fresh energy to City’s defense.
McFarlane:
This is the most advanced deal. The 17-year-old full-back has been impressive in the MLS and with England’s youth teams. The deal is expected to be finalized soon, especially since New York City FC, his current club, is owned by the same group that manages Manchester City.
