Former forward and current executive Fred announced on Friday (September 9) his departure from the position of Director of Sports Planning at Fluminense. According to Fred and the club, the reason for the departure was related to family matters.
Both Fred and Fluminense announced the departure on social media. Fred had held the position since December 1, 2022, and was involved in the club’s historic achievements, including winning the Libertadores in 2023 and the Recopa in 2024.
Fred’s role at the club was to integrate all football teams, including the men’s and women’s professional teams and the youth categories. The former forward was involved in planning and assembling the professional team alongside President Mário Bittencourt and Football Director Paulo Angioni.
