The Brazilian was injured during Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou said on Friday that Richarlison will miss a “significant amount of time” this season. The injury occurred last Sunday during Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League. Richarlison came on in the 56th minute and even provided an assist for Solanke, but was substituted just eight minutes before the final whistle. At the moment of the injury, the player clutched his left thigh and appeared visibly concerned about his condition.
The severity of Richarlison’s injury was confirmed this week, as he missed Tottenham’s Europa League clash with Galatasaray, which ended in a 3-2 defeat. When asked about the Brazilian, Postecoglou confirmed the tendon issue.
“I’m reluctant to put a time frame on it, but he will be out for a significant amount of time. It’s a significant tendon injury. We just have to keep bringing him back and working with him to get him up to speed because he’s an important player,” Postecoglou said.
The coach also mentioned that Richarlison was “very disappointed” because he had worked hard on his rehabilitation and physical fitness, and had been doing everything right to avoid further injuries.
Richarlison had previously been injured in August and only returned to action in October. He had played just five games before the new injury. This season, the Brazilian has featured in seven matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Stay ahead of the competition with ToSport.
