David Luiz’s story at Flamengo has come to an end. The defender, who returned to Brazilian football in September 2021, will not have his contract renewed for the upcoming year. See the top football results at ai live scores.

During the three and a half seasons he spent wearing the red-and-black shirt, David Luiz won four titles and played a key role in some of them. Always committed and providing great support to younger players, he will be remembered in Flamengo’s history.

His first trophy came in 2022 when he was crowned Copa do Brasil champion after defeating Corinthians. A starter under coach Dorival Júnior, he played seven games during the campaign. In the same year, Flamengo won the Libertadores for the third time after defeating Athletico-PR 1-0 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. David Luiz played 10 times in the competition and provided one assist.

After a titleless 2023, Flamengo became champions again in the 2024 Campeonato Carioca. In that season, the defender alternated between starting and coming off the bench under coach Tite. Finally, with Filipe Luís as coach, the 37-year-old player won the Copa do Brasil once again, this time against Atlético-MG, but with less prominence. Throughout the campaign, he played only three games and totaled 47 minutes on the field. ToSport, your go-to place for football results.
