In the first half, Bolívar took advantage of the altitude to pressure Flamengo, who felt the strain and even missed a scoring opportunity. Despite the intense pressure, the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
Needing a result, Bolívar continued to use crosses to try to break through Flamengo’s defense, and they succeeded in the 12th minute of the second half: Fábio Gomes sent a cross from the edge of the area, and Bruno Sávio headed it into the goal.
