Former striker Romário gave his opinion on who are the three greatest players in the history of football, and left himself out of the top 3.
The subject was discussed during Romário‘s appearance on Duda Garbi’s channel. The journalist initially asked Baixinho about Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent statement, who said he was the best and most complete player in the history of football.
“Respect. That has also crossed my mind, it’s everyone’s right. Fuck it [laughs] (…) He has his history, his career, what he has achieved… He is 100% entitled to have that opinion”, said Romário.
The former player then chose the three greatest in history. Without hesitation, he put Pelé at the top of the list before mentioning two Argentines.
“For me, the greatest of all time, who will never be equaled, is Pelé.”
“If we were to choose three amazing players, I would choose Pelé, Maradona and Messi.”

In February of this year, Cristiano defined himself as the most complete player ever seen in the history of the sport. The star has been voted the best player in the world five times: in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

I do everything in football: I am good with my head, I take free kicks well, I shoot well with my left foot, I am tall, strong, I have a good jump… One thing is taste: you can say you like Messi, Pelé, Maradona better. I understand that and I respect that, but to say that Cristiano is not complete is a lie. I am the most complete. I believe I am [the best in history]. I have not seen anyone better”, Cristiano Ronaldo told the La Sexta channel.
