Vinicius Júnior praised coach Carlo Ancelotti, who coached him at Real Madrid and now leads the Brazilian National Team
Forward Vinicius Júnior believes that the Brazilian National Team can perform better under Carlo Ancelotti than in the 0-0 draw with Ecuador, this Thursday (5/6), in the 15th round of the World Cup Qualifiers. The number 10 praised the Italian coach, with whom he formed a successful partnership at Real Madrid, and spoke about unity until the World Cup.
“I’m very happy with Ancelotti here with us. He was the best coach I could work with and having the opportunity to work with him on the Brazilian National Team, there’s nothing better. Of course, he hasn’t had time to show his work or game plan yet, it’s only been two or three days of training”, he began in an interview with TV Globo.
Brazil was not very creative and made a lot of technical mistakes in Ancelotti’s debut, repeating poor performances seen at other times in the Qualifiers. The team is in fourth place, with 22 points – 12 behind leaders Argentina and seven more than Venezuela, which is currently heading to the World Cup play-offs.
“I believe that the team and the fans have to stay together, happy, because the World Cup is just around the corner and we have to be together to have an excellent end to the Qualifiers and then prepare well for the World Cup.”
Brazil returns to the field against Paraguay, at 9:45 pm on Tuesday (10/6), at the Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, for the 16th round of the South American Qualifiers for the World Cup.
