Former Manchester United player and idol Roy Keane blasted Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, one of Manchester City’s stars, after a match in the FA Cup. The citizens came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 this Sunday (30/3) at the Vitallity Stadium in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Haaland missed a penalty and a few goal opportunities in the match, but scored City’s equalizer early in the second half. Keane criticized the Manchester team’s number 9.
“Haaland missed the penalty, he lacked spirit. Soon after he missed another opportunity. Manchester City are strolling around the field, it’s not a good sign,” he criticized. Keane had harsh reservations about the characteristics of the Norwegian, the second-highest scorer in the English Premier League, with 21 goals.
“His overall game is very poor, not just today, but in general. In front of goal, he is one of the best in the world, but his overall performance is very poor. He is almost like a Second Division player,” he added.
In the 16th minute of the second half, Haaland felt pain in his left ankle and was substituted. After the match, the player left the stadium on crutches and wearing protective boots.
