Internacional depends on an unlikely combination of results to become the Brazilian Championship champion.

See what Internacional needs to become the Brazilian Championship champion.

After a turbulent start to the year with early eliminations in the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Sudamericana, along with heavy rains that devastated Rio Grande do Sul, Internacional has bounced back. Unbeaten in their last 14 games, a club record, the Colorado has already secured a spot in the 2025 Libertadores and is still dreaming of the Brazilian Championship title – though it remains a very distant dream. With Flamengo’s draw against Atlético-MG last Wednesday, Inter returned to fifth place with 59 points, nine behind leader Botafogo. There are five rounds left in the Brazilian Championship, and the two teams will face off in the penultimate round at Beira-Rio stadium.

If the gauchos keep up their momentum and win their remaining five matches, they will finish with 74 points, a club record in the points-based system. However, that doesn’t guarantee them the title.

Since Botafogo already has 68 points, they can only earn five more points by the end of the season, which is highly unlikely given the team’s performance throughout the year. The situation becomes even more challenging when considering their recent form: Botafogo has been unbeaten in 11 games, with seven wins and four draws.

In addition to Botafogo, the other teams ahead of Inter also cannot accumulate too many points. Palmeiras, for example, can only add a maximum of nine points, while Fortaleza can’t exceed 10 points – the team coached by Juan Pablo Vojvoda will face Inter at the Castelão in the final round.

Finally, Flamengo has the same number of points as Inter but has one more win. Therefore, the cariocas can earn at most 13 more points. That’s, of course, assuming Roger Machado’s team wins all of their remaining five matches. Dreaming costs nothing. BB Score, your go-to place for football results.
