German striker Tim Lemperle, 23, was taken to a hospital urgently after being attacked while leaving a bar. According to the German newspaper Bild, the FC Köln player, who was with a group of friends, got into an argument with people who were at the establishment.
Hours later, the individuals waited for Lemperle to leave the place and attacked the athlete, who fractured his nose and suffered several cuts on his face. Tim’s team faces Kaiserslautern this Sunday (18/5), in the playoffs of the Bundesliga 2 (German Second Division).
Friedhelm Funkel, Köln’s coach, spoke about the case and stated that the striker’s chance of playing in the match is “minimal”.
A product of the Köln youth system, Tim Lemperle is one of the team’s standout players this season. A regular starter, the number 19 has played 27 games in 2024/2025, scored 11 goals and provided six assists.
