Neymar says he feels wronged at PSG and regrets his troubled exit.

Neymar’s time at PSG was controversial from the very beginning of the negotiations. A multiple-time champion with Barcelona, playing alongside one of the most memorable attacking trios in football history, the Brazilian shocked the world when he announced he was moving to France. There, he experienced both highs and lows. While he had some memorable performances, he struggled with injuries and couldn’t achieve the club’s ultimate dream: winning the Champions League. On Sunday, the 15th, Neymar gave an interview to Bartoli Time on French radio RMC, where he reflected on his time at the club between 2017 and 2023. At one point, he was asked about his relationship with the fans and didn’t hide his frustration with how his image was handled and the episodes of hostility he faced.

“For me, there was injustice because I always gave my all on the field. I don’t hold grudges, but I was a little sad about how I was treated by the fans, especially when they came to my house, when they wanted to invade my house, insult me, or even try to assault me. For me, they crossed the line,” he said.

Despite the issues, the Brazilian said he holds a special affection for the club and emphasized that his time at PSG was a period of great professional achievement. In fact, it was where he played the longest: 173 games, with 118 goals and 77 assists over six years.

In 2023, Neymar announced his move to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, but he hasn’t been able to establish himself there due to injuries. During a World Cup Qualifier match against Uruguay, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee, sidelining him for over a year.

Upon returning, he played only two games before being diagnosed with a new thigh injury, with a return planned for 2025. During his time at Al-Hilal, he made just seven appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists. Stay in the know with ToSport.
