Lewandowski Shines as Barcelona Comes from Behind to Beat Valencia in Flick's Debut

Access os meus resultado. Barça starts La Liga 2024/2025 with a comeback victory away from home.

In Hans Flick’s official debut as Barcelona’s coach, the Catalan side began the 2024/2025 La Liga season with a 2-1 comeback win over Valencia at Mestalla. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski was the standout performer, scoring both goals that secured the first three points for Barça in the competition.

The match began with high intensity but few clear-cut chances. Barcelona controlled possession, while Valencia looked to exploit the flanks to surprise the Catalan defense. In the 44th minute of the first half, Valencia took the lead with a goal from Hugo Duro, which was confirmed by VAR after a suspicion of offside.

Barcelona, however, responded quickly and equalized in stoppage time of the first half. Raphinha delivered a cross into the area, Lamine Yamal made a touch, and Lewandowski finished it off into the back of the net. Early in the second half, Barça completed the turnaround after Raphinha was fouled in the box, with Lewandowski converting the penalty with ease.

With the lead, Barcelona managed the rest of the game, while Valencia struggled to create new opportunities. Despite Ruben Baraja’s attempts to change the course of the match, Valencia could not find a way back, and the score ended 2-1 in favor of the visitors. BB score, Your Comprehensive Results Portal!
