In a crucial match held today (31) at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard in Saint-Étienne, Germany defeated Zambia 4-1, securing their place in the quarterfinals of the women’s soccer tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The European team only needed a draw to advance, while Zambia required a win combined with favorable results elsewhere.
From the start of the game, Germany demonstrated their superiority and control. In the 10th minute of the first half, Lea Schüller opened the scoring after receiving a pass from Buhl, dribbling past a defender, and finishing accurately past goalkeeper Musole. With this win, Germany secured second place in Group B with six points and now awaits the quarterfinal matchups. Zambia, on the other hand, exits the Olympics, returning home without advancing further in the tournament.
