The Italian coach has a long history with Brazilian stars and arrives at the National Team after coaching legends such as Kaká, Dida, Cafu and promising players such as Endrick
Carlo Ancelotti was officially announced as the coach of the Brazilian National Team this Monday (12/5), with a contract until the end of the 2026 World Cup. Before taking charge of the Brazilian team, the Italian coach already has extensive experience with Brazilian players, having coached 43 Brazilian athletes in his career – from historic legends to promising young players.
Of all of them, Kaká was the Brazilian coach most coached by Ancelotti, with 270 games under his command at Milan. Right behind him is goalkeeper Dida, with 267 games, also for the Italian team. Completing the podium are Rodrygo (208 games) and Serginho (201). Other notable names also appear with impressive numbers, such as Vinicius Jr. (197 games), one of Real Madrid’s main players, and Cafu (166 games), captain of the five-time champions and symbol of Milan under Ancelotti.
In defense, the coach worked with Militão (131 games) and Marcelo (110 games), as well as midfielders such as Alex (95 games) and Casemiro (75 games), pillars at their respective clubs during the coach’s tenure.
Among those who spent less time with Ancelotti, names such as Ronaldo Fenômeno (20 games) and Ronaldinho Gaúcho (36 games) stand out. Despite their talent, their time under the Italian was short. The same goes for David Luiz (12 games), Lucas Silva (9 games) and Leonardo (5 games).
The interesting side of the list is that of players who only had one opportunity with Ancelotti, such as Claiton, Felipe Mattioni, Vinícius Tobias and Willian José. Another interesting fact is Ancelotti’s relationship with the new generation: Endrick played 34 games for Real Madrid under the coach, being used more than historic names like Belletti (22 games).
