He added that Mbappé “is doing things that are the opposite of what the game demands. He creates egos in the locker room. He’s a weight, a burden. Unfortunately, he’s the main reason for Real Madrid’s poor start to the season.”
According to Rothen, the arrival of the French forward forced the Spanish team to change its style of play, altering the dynamic of the squad that won last season’s Champions League.
“Real Madrid won everything last season with a collective team and players who showed courage on the field. Unfortunately, I have the impression that all of that has disappeared.
