Fluminense achieved its fourth consecutive victory this season and now has 20 points in the Brazilian Championship, in fifth place
With a goal early in the game and another from a mistake by goalkeeper Anthony, Fluminense beat Internacional 2-0 this Sunday (1/6), at Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre, in the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship. The goals were scored by Kevin Serna and Paulo Baya. With the result, the tricolor reached its fourth consecutive victory this season. The team is in fifth place, with 20 points. It is worse for Colorado, which, stuck on 11 points, is starting to see the relegation zone closer. Fluminense now returns to its batteries for the Super Club World Cup in the United States. The debut will be on June 17 against Borussia Dortmund from Germany. Internacional will still play before the break for the World Cup. The opponent will be Atlético, on June 12, at the MRV Arena.
The two teams were still studying each other on the field when Fluminense managed to open the scoring in the 10th minute. Samuel Xavier made a beautiful pass in the middle of the Inter defense, Kevin Serna controlled it in the area and shot to beat goalkeeper Anthony.
The lack of operational capacity of Internacional was impressive. The Colorado plays were easily neutralized by the Rio defense. The goalkeeper was a somewhat careless defender and saw the ball pass between his arm and body and go into the back of the net. It was the goal that sealed the visitors’ victory.
