Tottenham won the 2024/25 Europa League after beating Manchester United 1-0. Welsh striker Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute of the first half. The Europa League final took place this Wednesday (21/5) at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.
The Europa League campaign earned Tottenham £31.5 million (R$239 million). There was £5 million for winning the final (R$38 million), in addition to £26.5 million (R$201 million) accumulated throughout the tournament.
Tottenham have qualified for the 2025/26 Champions League, which will bring the English club a fixed sum of £16 million (R$121.6 million). As UEFA distributes separate amounts for wins and draws, Spurs can further increase their revenue in the Old Continent’s premier club tournament.
Tottenham will also play in the European Super Cup against the winner of the 2024/25 Champions League. Paris Saint-Germain and Internazionale will battle it out for the trophy on Saturday, May 31, at 4 pm, in Munich, Germany. The winner of the European Super Cup, to be held in August 2025, will pocket €5 million (R$31 million).
Tottenham’s 2024/25 Europa League campaign has seen them win 10, draw three and lose two in 15 games. The London team scored 28 goals and conceded 13. Throughout the competition, Spurs faced Qarabag (Azerbaijan), Ferencváros (Hungary), AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands), Galatasaray (Turkey), Roma (Italy), Rangers (Scotland), Hoffenheim (Germany), Elfsborg (Sweden), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), Bodo/Glimt (Norway) and Manchester United.
