FIFA announced on Wednesday (21/5) that an exceptional transfer window will be open from 1 to 10 June with the aim of allowing the 32 teams participating in the Club World Cup (14 June – 13 July) to sign reinforcements before the start of the tournament.
In accordance with the regulations of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the relevant changes to the regulations on the Statute and the transfer of Players, the 20 member associations that have clubs that will participate in FIFA’s revolutionary competition have confirmed that they will open an exceptional registration period from 1 to 10 June so that new players can play in the competition”, said the governing body of football in a statement. “The deadline for submitting the final list has been set for 10 June, so that the participating clubs can count on the players signed during this extraordinary period.
Similarly, another window will be open from 27 June to 3 July, during which clubs will be able to incorporate additional players into the tournament, which is already underway.
“The aim is to encourage clubs and players whose contracts are close to expiring to find an appropriate solution that favours the participation of the affected players. In this way, clubs will be able to register new players during the tournament, allowing the best players to play,” FIFA stressed.
