Bahia overcame Vitória 2-0 in the Ba-Vi classic held last Sunday (11) at the Casa de Apostas Arena Fonte Nova, in a match valid for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship. With the win, Tricolor solidified their position in the league and secured three points in the classic that marked the end of the encounters between the teams this season.
The scoreboard was opened at the 14th minute of the first half with a goal from Everton Ribeiro. The midfielder, who suffered an eye injury after a clash with an opponent’s knee, returned to the field after medical attention and, just before being substituted, managed to score for Bahia. The lead provided the Tricolor with the stability needed to manage the game.
In the second half, Vitória attempted to press for an equalizer and created some dangerous opportunities. However, Bahia defended well and took advantage of the spaces left by their rivals. At the 42nd minute, Luciano Juba, on a quick counterattack, extended the lead for Tricolor, sealing the final score at 2-0.
