The first half was lively, with both teams creating chances, but it was Egypt that took the lead in the 40th minute. Forward Zizo won a contest on the right, advanced with the ball to the edge of the area, and passed to number 10 Adel, who shot over Spanish goalkeeper Iturbe.
Spain pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but it was Egypt that struck again in the second half, with Adel once more taking advantage of a Spanish error. The Spanish defence poorly cleared a ball, which fell to Adel, who beat Iturbe to double the lead.
Egypt had chances to make it 3-0, forcing Iturbe into several tough saves and even scoring another goal, though it was ruled out for offside. Spain managed to pull one back with a header from Omorodion after a cross from the right in the 45th minute of the second half, but that was all they could manage.
Both teams advanced to the quarter-finals, with Egypt finishing first and Spain second in the group. They are now awaiting the qualifiers from Group D to determine their opponents in the knockout stage.
