PVC mentions Cruzeiro and surrenders to Neymar: ‘May it always be like this’

The star player was the star of Santos’ 1-0 victory over Flamengo on Wednesday (16/7), at Vila Belmiro, in the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship.

Journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho heaped praise on Neymar after Santos’ 1-0 victory over Flamengo at Vila Belmiro in the Brazilian Championship. For PVC, this was the star’s best game this year.

“Neymar has never been so decisive since returning to Brazil. Not in a game against such a difficult opponent,” PVC stated in his column for UOL. The journalist emphasized that Neymar’s talent was never questioned. “He received the ball, dribbled past Léo Pereira, knocked Varela out of the play, and deflected it past goalkeeper Rossi, with the talent no critic has ever denied him. Hopefully, hopefully, God willing… May it always be like this.” “Neymar had his best day, his most decisive game against an important opponent, since his return to the field,” PVC added.

The journalist also mentioned the impact of the result on the top of the Brasileirão table, with the chance for Santos to benefit: “And it threatens Flamengo’s lead if Cruzeiro wins or draws with Fluminense this Thursday.”

Santos defeats Flamengo

Santos defeated Flamengo 1-0 this Wednesday (July 16th) at Vila Belmiro in the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship. Neymar scored the only goal of the match. With the result, Santos jumped to 14th place with 14 points, two more than Vitória, who are now in the relegation zone. Flamengo, in turn, remains atop Série A with 27 points, but could be overtaken by Cruzeiro, who have the same points but are at a disadvantage in the tiebreaker criteria.
