Flamengo vs Bayern: Neuer is optimistic about the Club World Cup clash

Flamengo faces Bayern on Sunday (29/6), in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup

Bayern Munich were defeated by Benfica 1-0 in the last round of Group C of the Club World Cup. Despite the defeat and, consequently, the team’s second-place finish, Manuel Neuer, the German team’s goalkeeper, said he was optimistic. “We need to start with intensity in the next game against Flamengo. Honestly, I’m optimistic about the second half and what we achieved with our team, how we created chances. If we can play the 90 minutes at this pace and with the way we created chances, I’ll be optimistic about the tournament,” Neuer told FIFA.

The German also commented on the team’s performance and highlighted the improvement in the second half. “The start of the first half wasn’t so good, but we saw a different team in the second half, with the pace we played, the possession we had and how we defended as well. It was much better than how we started in the first half and I think the intensity was much higher. But we lost the rhythm and that was key,” Neuer added.
