André Rizek is criticized by a fan and says: ‘It’s just news’

‘Thank you for giving me and my work so much importance’, said the SporTV journalist in a post on social media

SporTV presenter André Rizek is in the United States to cover the Club World Cup and was criticized by a fan on social media for allegedly “talking badly about the event”. The journalist was polite and responded to the criticism. Internet user Thiago Rebelo criticized the work of the Globo Group journalist on X, the former Twitter account. “This annoying guy went to the US just to talk badly about the event. Each time he posts something different. Very annoying! This time it was to talk badly about the pitch. What a jerk, bro. Impressive. What a heavy aura”, he said.

Rizek was polite in his response: “What’s up, Thiago? Thank you for giving me and my work so much importance! My friend, the one who spoke badly about the pitch was Abel, in a press conference, as well as the Palmeiras players. Don’t get nervous! It’s just news. The World Cup is going to be a blast! Hugs.”

Marcos André, another fan, took the opportunity to send a message to the journalist. “What a shame your club isn’t competing, isn’t it!?” Rizek added: “Yes, it is! SporTV is here in force! My team – as well as all the Brazilians in this World Cup.” When asked why he has so much patience on social media, the journalist said: “I like interacting with the people here, including those who criticize me. It’s part of the game. That’s why I’m on Twitter,” he said.

The competition has a format similar to the last editions of the World Cup, with 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams. The teams face each opponent in the group once.

The top two teams in each group advance to the knockout stage. From there, the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals are played, all in a single match, with extra time in the event of a tie and, if the tie persists, a penalty shootout. There will be no third-place play-off. The brackets were determined by drawing lots before the start of the World Cup. The team that finishes first in Group A will face the second-place team in Group B and vice versa. The same goes for Groups C and D and so on.
