Lamine Yamal renews contract with Barcelona until 2031

After an ‘astronomical’ season in 2024/2025, the Catalan team’s number 19 extended his contract with the Spanish club

Barcelona announced this Tuesday (27/5) the renewal of the contract of Lamine Yamal, 17 years old. The Spanish striker’s new contract will be valid until June 2031. Yamal was revealed at just 15 years old, in April 2023. Since then, the striker has established himself as one of the best players in the Spanish National Team and Barcelona. In the Catalan team, the youngster forms a strong attacking trio with the Brazilian Raphinha and Lewandowski.

With only two years of career, Yamal has already accumulated 125 games, 29 goals and 43 assists. In addition, he has a vast gallery of titles: two Spanish Championships, a Copa del Rey, a Spanish Super Cup and a European Championship with the national team.

Although the amount of the new contract has not been disclosed, it is likely that Yamal has received a salary increase from Barcelona. His previous contract, signed when the forward was 15 years old, was valid until June 2026.

Barcelona also agreed to extend the contract of Brazilian forward Raphinha until 2028. Thus, the Catalan team’s attack is confirmed for next season, as Lewandowski has a contract valid until June 2026.

A key player in this season’s titles, German coach Hansi Flick, also renewed his contract with Barcelona. His new contract is valid until June 2027.
