Bayern won the title last Sunday after a defeat by Leverkusen; victory in the cup game took M’gladbach out of European competitions.
With the German Championship title already secured, Bayern Munich beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 this Saturday (10/5). The match, in the penultimate round of the competition, took place at the Allianz Arena. Harry Kane and Olise scored the goals. This was the match in which the Bavarians finally lifted the Bundesliga trophy, won last Sunday, after Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw against Freiburg. With the victory, Bayern reached 79 points in 33 matches. The defeat deprives Monchengladbach of the chance to play in a European competition next season. The team is in ninth place, with 45 points.
In the last round of the German Championship, both teams will return to the field next Saturday, at 10:30 am (Brasília time). Bayern will visit Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena, while Monchengladbach will host Wolfsburg at Borussia-Park.
In an individual move on the right, in the 30th minute of the first half, Michael Olise cut inside and shot with his left foot. Halfway through the move, Harry Kane headed the ball and saw it end up in the back of the net. In the 45th minute of the second half, Sané passed it to Olise who, close to the six-yard box, hit the ball with his toe into the goalkeeper’s right corner to seal the Bavarians’ victory.
