Five Brazilian teams are already guaranteed in the 2025 Libertadores.

The end of the Brazilian season is approaching, and many teams are already starting to plan for next season. Knowing which competition they will participate in is crucial for this process. With only five matches remaining in the Brazilian Championship, five teams have already secured their spots in next year’s Libertadores, South America’s premier club competition. Brazil is entitled to seven spots in the continental tournament, with five of them directly going to the group stage – four through the Brazilian Championship and one for the Copa do Brasil champion – and two spots for the preliminary round, also via the national league. There are also additional spots that could be granted to Brazil in case of victories in the Libertadores or the Copa Sudamericana.

Here is a list of the Brazilian teams already guaranteed in the continent’s biggest club competition:

Botafogo: With 68 points, the Rio de Janeiro club is currently leading the Brasileirão and can no longer be surpassed by eighth-placed Bahia, guaranteeing them a spot in the competition. Additionally, Botafogo could also qualify by winning this year’s Libertadores; the final against Atlético Mineiro is scheduled for November 30.

Palmeiras: The Verdão holds second place in the national championship with 64 points and is also secured a spot, as they can no longer be surpassed by Bahia.

Fortaleza: In another solid year under Juan Pablo Vojvoda, Fortaleza sits in third place with 63 points, guaranteeing their spot in the Libertadores after participating in the Copa Sudamericana this season.

Internacional: After an incredible comeback under coach Roger Machado, Internacional is in fourth place in the Brasileirão. Even if they lose all their remaining matches, they will still finish in at least seventh place. The team is unbeaten in their last 14 league matches, the longest unbeaten run in the club’s history.

Flamengo: Currently in fifth place with 58 points and a game in hand, Flamengo secured their Libertadores spot by winning the Copa do Brasil against Atlético Mineiro, with scores of 3-1 and 1-0. This victory guarantees them a place in the 2025 Libertadores group stage.

In addition to these five teams, São Paulo, currently sixth with 57 points, has 11 points more than eighth-placed Bahia and is nearly guaranteed a spot in the competition. Cruzeiro, in seventh place with 47 points, still has a chance to qualify through the Copa Sudamericana final against Racing, which gives them two possible routes to the Libertadores.

Finally, Bahia is still fighting for the last spot via the Brasileirão, and Atlético Mineiro is aiming for qualification through the Libertadores, with a final match against Botafogo on November 30. BB Score, your premier destination for football results.
