Jorge Jesus is called to a meeting with Al-Hilal directors after elimination in the semifinals of the Asian Champions League.
Al Hilal will hold a meeting this Wednesday (4/30) to define the future of Jorge Jesus. If there is consensus, the Portuguese coach may be fired. The information is from the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat. The meeting takes place after Al-Hilal was eliminated from the Asian Champions League. The team was defeated by Al-Ahli on Tuesday (4/29), by 3 to 1, in the semifinals of the tournament.
The team also has no chance of winning the Saudi Championship. The Saudi team wants to “draw up an expanded plan for the future of Al-Hilal”, reported the newspaper. In addition to Jorge Jesus, the club may undergo changes among its directors. Jorge Jesus avoided discussing a possible dismissal after the elimination: “Before the match and after the match, we have contracts, we are working”, stated the coach.
The Portuguese coach was once again the CBF’s main name to take over the Brazilian National Team after the frustration with Carlo Ancelotti. According to Rodrigo Mattos, a columnist for UOL, however, the coach was extremely upset about being left as a second option. Jesus has a contract with Al-Hilal until mid-2024. The Saudi club has five more matches for Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Super Club World Cup.
