Loaned by Bragantino, the Bahia club was supposed to pay six million euros – about R$38 million – to acquire the striker on a permanent basis, as outlined in the contract signed at the beginning of last year. The board even tried to lower these amounts, but they were unsuccessful in the negotiations.
Alerrandro finished the season with 21 goals and seven assists in 52 matches for Vitória and managed to overcome a rocky start to the year, despite being the top scorer of the Campeonato Baiano during the title-winning campaign.
He even went three months without scoring, but he bounced back in the second half of the season and was crucial in the team’s strong finish in Serie A, which not only kept the Lion in the national top division but also secured a spot in the Copa Sudamericana.
