Forward for the youth teams of Fast Clube, Ezequias played in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup in 2025
Soccer player Ezequias Júnior, who played for Fast Clube’s under-20 team, was shot dead on Wednesday night (5/22), in Manaus (AM). Shortly after, a man and a woman who are suspected of involvement in the case were murdered, and their bodies were found with signs of torture.
As reported by D24am, a portal from Amazonas, preliminary information indicates that the couple participated in the death of the 19-year-old athlete. Security cameras caught the car carrying Ezequias being chased by a couple on a motorcycle, and the woman who appears on the back was wearing clothes similar to those found on the body of the murdered female victim. According to the Military Police of Amazonas, the couple was found tied up and showing signs of torture in the middle of a street in the Nossa Senhora de Fátima I Community, in the North Zone of Manaus. The player’s murder took place in the East Zone. Both the man and the woman had gunshot wounds to the head.
According to the Military Police, Ezequias, 19, was shot dead after an argument on a court in the Distrito Industrial neighborhood, in the East Zone of the capital of Amazonas. The authorities also reported that the shots were fired after the player defended his wife from harassment. Ezequias was then taken to the hospital in a car, which was chased and shot at by a couple on a motorcycle. The moment was captured by security cameras in a condominium.
Ezequias played as a forward for Fast’s youth team. This year, he played in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup for the club. In Amazonas, the athlete also played for Manaus and Sul América. He also played in the youth teams of Capivariano and Comercial, both in the interior of São Paulo. Both Fast and Manaus published a note on social media lamenting the player’s death.
