Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne died this Tuesday (22/7); former Black Sabbath singer was passionate about the English team and was already a star in the new uniform

A legendary figure in the history of heavy metal, Englishman Ozzy Osbourne died this Tuesday (July 22nd) at the age of 76. The former lead singer of the band Black Sabbath was a passionate fan of a traditional Premier League team: Aston Villa

Ozzy even received a beautiful tribute from the fans of the club in Birmingham, the second largest city in his home country, earlier this year. On January 29th, the stands at Villa Park featured a special 3D mosaic featuring the musician’s image and the phrase “Up the Villa” – an expression commonly used by fans to support the team.

The artwork was displayed at the stadium minutes before kickoff of the match between Aston Villa and Celtic in the eighth round of the Champions League. The English team won 4-2, securing direct qualification for the round of 16 of the competition for the first time in over four decades. “Villa won 4-2 today. F*cking brilliant!! Tears of joy are streaming down my face,” Ozzy wrote on social media after the match.

Ozzy previously starred in Aston Villa’s kit launch

The launch of Aston Villa’s kits last season starred the legendary English singer. Ozzy Osbourne was the main face of the advertising campaign, which also featured former Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, also a vocal fan of the club.
