Cruzeiro x Flamengo face off this Sunday (4/5), at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship.
Full house? That’s the trend. Right after the 2-0 victory over Vila Nova, in the first leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, this Thursday (1/4), Cruzeiro demanded an increase in the expected attendance at Mineirão for the duel with Flamengo.
The teams face off this Sunday (4/5), also at Gigante da Pampulha, in Belo Horizonte, for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship. When tickets went on sale, on Tuesday (29/4), Cruzeiro expected to receive around 40 thousand fans at the main stadium in Minas Gerais against Flamengo. However, the victory over Vila Nova and the context of the next match, also considering the position of both teams in the Série A standings, boosted demand.
Now, the expectation is that 57,500 fans will attend Mineirão on Sunday. Cruzeiro and Flamengo are fighting at the top of the standings. Raposa is in fourth place, with 10 points – three wins, one draw and two losses. The Rio de Janeiro club is in first place, with 14 wins – four wins and two draws. The match will also mark the reunion between Gabi and Flamengo. The striker left the red-and-black team at the end of last year, after five years, when he signed with Raposa.
