So much so that the home team began to surround the black and white area and almost scored the first in the 13th minute. Kent received a pass in the area and shot, but John saved it. Rusnak got the rebound, but made a bad save.
The panorama of the match remained the same. The Seattle Sounders continued to have possession of the ball and search for a goal. After much insistence, the Americans scored the first goal in the 29th minute. Cristian Roldan took advantage of a cross and headed the ball into the net. The ball hit Igor Jesus and deceived John.
The goal made the Seattle Sounders advance in search of an equalizer. From then on, Botafogo retreated to preserve the result. The black and whites knew how to defend themselves and leave the field with the victory in the competition’s debut.
