Looking for a new coach, Glorioso consulted Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant, who is part of the Brazilian National Team’s committee

Botafogo continues its search for a new coach after firing Renato Paiva and has set a new target: Davide Ancelotti. The son of Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the Brazilian National Team, has received an inquiry from Glorioso to take over the main team.

According to the ge.globo portal, Botafogo has already informed the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) that it has begun negotiations with Davide Ancelotti to replace Renato Paiva, who was fired after the elimination from the Club World Cup. Davide Ancelotti has no experience as a head coach, but he tried to start his own career at the beginning of the year.

So much so that he only joined the Brazilian National Team for the game against Paraguay, the second under Carlo Ancelotti’s management. However, Davide does not have an exclusive link with the CBF like his father.

This way, he could negotiate a contract in which he would remain with both Botafogo and the Brazilian National Team. However, this format is not well received by John Textor, who would like the new coach to focus exclusively on the Glorioso.

He began his career as an assistant in 2015 and has already worked for Napoli, Everton, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Always alongside his father, Davide Ancelotti has a FIFA PRO license. Davide was unsure whether to pursue a solo career or remain alongside Ancelotti.

However, after seeing his name considered by some clubs in Spain, he decided to remain as the loyal squire of the current coach of the Brazilian National Team. In turn, Botafogo will return to its activities next Monday (07/7) still without a coach.

Renato Paiva left the Rio de Janeiro team last week, less than 48 hours after the team was eliminated by Palmeiras in the Club World Cup. Glorioso’s next match is the classic against Vasco, on July 12, for the 13th round of the Brazilian Championship.
