The Spurs started off better and took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Solanke after a rebound from goalkeeper Bayindir. In response, the team coached by Rúben Amorim attacked and created even more chances than the home team by the end of the first half. However, it was the London team that extended the lead.
In the 54th minute of the second half, Tottenham was already leading 3-0 and seemed to have the game in control, heading towards a spot in the semifinals. But at the 63rd minute, Forster made a mistake, and Zirkzee pulled one back for United. Six minutes later, the goalkeeper made another mistake, and Diallo scored the second goal.
The goals motivated the visitors, who launched an attack and pressed Ange Postecoglou’s team in search of the equalizer. The relief came in the 87th minute when Son scored a stunning Olympic goal. But what seemed like a resolved situation quickly turned into more tension: Evans headed in a corner kick to make it 3-3 for the Red Devils. However, it was too late.
