The change from the “bridal veil” to the “box” shape occurred before the match with Bahia, in the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship
The Mineirão‘s nets got a new look before the match between Cruzeiro and Bahia, this Thursday (4/17), in the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship’s Série A. Previously, the goals of the Gigante da Pampulha had the traditional “bridal veil” look, which is smaller at the top and has a long drop.
Cruzeiro asked to return the nets to the “box” shape, with a more rectangular and uniform appearance. The stadium’s manager, Minas Arena, complied with this request and changed the look of the goals.
Over the last decade, the Gigante’s nets have changed styles and were even voted on by the club, which adopted the fans’ favorite option. In 2023, Cruzeiro fans chose the bridal veil shape as their favorite.
