Atlético-MG confirmed on Wednesday, August 7th, the signing of forward Deyverson, who arrives from Cuiabá to strengthen the alvinegro squad. The player arrived in Belo Horizonte on Monday, August 5th, underwent medical exams, and signed a contract with Galo until the end of 2025. The deal was reportedly closed for around 4.5 million reais.
The signing of Deyverson comes at a crucial time for Atlético-MG, who lost forward Hulk due to an injury in the Round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil against CRB. With a tight schedule and concurrent participation in three competitions — Copa do Brasil, Brasileirão, and Libertadores — the Atlético management acted swiftly to secure a worthy replacement.
Deyverson’s arrival aims to bolster a position that has shown vulnerability in Hulk’s absence. The underperformance of Vargas in the defeat to Criciúma and the inconsistency of Alan Kardec, who has missed seven Brasileirão matches, highlight the need for a significant reinforcement.
