Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who immortalized his name in Atlético’s history, posted a message addressed to the club on social media
Soccer legend Ronaldinho Gaúcho didn’t let July 24th pass by unnoticed, a date immortalized by Atlético’s Copa Libertadores victory. The former player took to social media to share his satisfaction at having participated in that title, his only one in the continental competition, in 2013.
The “R49,” as he called it during his time with the black and white team, highlighted the special season he enjoyed with the Minas Gerais team, which he says was unique in his successful career.
“2013 was a magical year, unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in soccer… Thank you, Atlético, to my teammates, and to this crowd that supported us from start to finish!! The Crazy Rooster is the champion of the Americas!!!!” – Ronaldinho

Some players who participated in that campaign left comments on Ronaldinho’s post. “You’re a giant, brother,” wrote Richarlyson, who is now a commentator for Grupo Globo. “What a day!” Rosinei added. Many fans also left comments. Some even called for the star to return to the team. “Come back, Bruxo!!! You, at 40 years old, drinking and eating barbecue, play a lot, much better than that Scarpa,” posted an Atlético fan. “There are times when I stop and think… Has Ronaldinho ever played for Galo? It seems like a dream,” commented one fan.
