Teams no longer have a chance of qualifying for European competitions through the Premier League
Playing at Old Trafford, Manchester United was defeated by West Ham by 2-0, this Sunday (11/5), in the 36th round of the English Championship. The goals for the visitors were scored by Soucek and Bowen. Both teams no longer have ambitions in the competition, as they have already avoided relegation and have no chance of qualifying for European competitions through the Premier League. United is in 16th place, with 39 points. West Ham is just above, in 15th place, with 40 points.
West Ham opened the scoring in the 25th minute of the game. Kudus invaded the area and found Soucek free to score.
With 12 minutes of the second half, the visitors extended their lead. After a quick counterattack, Bowen received the ball from Wan-Bissaka and pushed it unmarked into the goal.
Manchester United return to action in the competition on Friday (16/5), when they visit Chelsea, at 4:15 pm (Brasília time). West Ham will play two days later against Nottingham Forest, at 10:15 am, also in the English league.
