Guilherme Arana has been a full-back for Atlético since 2020 and has already won nine titles with the black and white shirt, including the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil.
Spanish newspaper AS reported on Tuesday (July 29) that Sevilla expects Atlético to sell Guilherme Arana. According to the European newspaper, the amount would be unexpected for the club, which is facing a serious financial crisis.
The southern Spanish club’s desire is due to the possibility of receiving 10% of the 28-year-old left-back’s next transfer. This is because Sevilla, when negotiating Guilherme Arana with Atlético, maintained this percentage and could receive a sum for a player who left Andalusia more than five years ago – the negotiation took place in early 2020.
Guilherme Arana for Atlético
At 28 years old, Guilherme Arana is a regular starter for Atlético, but he’s not playing due to a physical problem. On July 22, the Minas Gerais team announced that Arana suffered a minor injury to his left thigh and is undergoing physical therapy to recover.
For Atlético, Arana has played 244 matches between 2020 and 2025, scoring 22 goals, winning the 2021 Brazilian Championship, the 2022 Brazilian Super Cup, and winning the Minas Gerais Championship for the first time (2020-2025).
