Fluminense's World Cup rival, Dortmund signs Real star's brother

The brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, English midfielder Jobe Bellingham, has been announced by Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund has signed Jobe Bellingham — the younger brother of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham — as a reinforcement for the FIFA Club World Cup. The German club is in Grupo F, alongside Fluminense, and the teams will face each other in the opening match.

Jobe Bellingham arrives at Dortmund to reinforce the midfield for the next five seasons. The 19-year-old Englishman joined from Sunderland for 30 million euros (R$ 190 million), according to the newspaper Marca, and follows in his brother’s footsteps by leaving England to play for Borussia Dortmund.

“I am very happy to now be a Borussia Dortmund player and to be able to fight for titles with this great club. I want to do my part to help us celebrate our achievements with these incredible fans, and to do so, I will work hard every day on myself and the team. I am very happy to be able to wear the yellow and black jersey at the FIFA Club World Cup,” said Bellingham.

Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense will make their Club World Cup debut on Tuesday, June 17, at 1:00 p.m. (Brasília time), at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

On Wednesday, Tricolor das Laranjeiras will play a training match against Charleston Battery, a local team close to the club’s facilities in South Carolina.
