Atlético “breathed” with a victory over Botafogo and counted on other results from the fifth round to leave the “relegation zone”, albeit temporarily. This Sunday (4/20), Atlético “cleansed its soul” with a victory over Botafogo, 1-0, at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte. With a header from a corner kick, Cuello scored the goal that sealed Galo’s first victory in the Brazilian Championship.
With the result, the Minas Gerais club reached five points in Series A and surpassed Bahia, Grêmio and Santos in the standings. However, with Bahia’s victory this Monday (21), the Minas Gerais team returned to the Z4.
Atlético’s upcoming matches
Atlético will return to the field for the Brazilian Championship next Saturday (4/26), for a duel against Mirassol. The teams will face off at the Campos Maia Stadium, in Mirassol. Before that, in any case, Galo will have a match in the third round of Group H of the Copa Sul-Americana. This Wednesday (4/23), the ball will roll for the match against Caracas at the UCV Olympic Stadium, in Caracas, Venezuela.
