Atlético has yet to win the 2025 Campeonato Brasileiro 2024, but saved itself at the end of an even worse result on Sunday night (13/4). Galo hosted Vitória at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, had an unstable performance and tied 2-2, in the third round of Série A.
The black and white goals were scored by Fausto Vera and Igor Gomes, while Lucas Halter and Matheuzinho scored for Leão da Barra. This scenario was seen in the defeat to Grêmio in the opening match and in the draw with São Paulo in the second round, also at Mineirão. Meanwhile, the defense was unable to stop Gustavo Silva’s good performance and conceded two avoidable goals, given the freedom of Lucas Halter and Matheuzinho to score. One number that draws attention is the number of great chances, since Vitória had more (3) than Atlético (2), even with the black and white team dominating.
Thus, Atlético had to chase the score on two occasions in the second half and managed to equalize, but losing two more points at home is not a good sign for Cuca’s team, which remains close to the relegation zone.
