Giorgian de Arrascaeta didn’t hesitate: if he could sign one player for Flamengo, the reinforcement would be Everton Ribeiro. The midfielder, who won multiple titles for Cruzeiro and is currently at Bahia, formed a great duo with the Uruguayan star at the Rio de Janeiro club. Asked on the Desimpedidos program about which player he would sign for Flamengo, Arrascaeta made it clear. “Everton Ribeiro. My duo. I miss the little guy.

The little guy was very smart,” said the Uruguayan. They played together from 2019 until 2023, when Everton went to Bahia. Arrascaeta and Ribeiro won two Libertadores, two Brazilian Championships, one Brazilian Cup, two Brazilian Super Cups, one Recopa and three Carioca titles.

Everton Ribeiro made history wearing the Cruzeiro jersey. The midfielder formed a duo with Ricardo Goulart and became known as one of the great players for Raposa, although he only played for the team for two seasons. Between 2013 and 2014, he played 108 games, scoring 23 goals and providing 24 assists. He won three titles: two Brazilian Championships (2013 and 2014) and one Minas Gerais Championship (2014).

Arrascaeta played for Cruzeiro between 2015 and 2018, a period in which he stood out with good individual numbers and played an active role in winning the 2018 Minas Gerais Championship and the 2017 and 2018 Brazilian Cups – he scored in all the finals. The Uruguayan scored 50 goals and made 37 decisive passes in the 188 matches he played in. During this period, he was also called up to the 2015 Copa América in Chile and the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
