After a 5-0 defeat in the final of the continental competition last Saturday (31\/5), the Italian coach has decided to leave the club

Coach Simone Inzaghi<\/strong> has decided to leave Inter Milan<\/strong>, the club announced on Tuesday (3), three days after the team’s 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain<\/strong> in the Champions League<\/strong> final. \u201cThe fans, players and staff will remember Inzaghi’s great passion,\u201d Inter wrote in a statement, without mentioning the reason for the coach’s departure. According to the Italian press, he was on his way to Al-Hilal<\/strong>, from Saudi Arabia, which reportedly offered a two-year contract for 50 million euros (R$322 million at the current exchange rate). In four seasons at the helm of Inter, Inzaghi, 49, won a \u2018Scudetto\u2019, two Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quoted in a statement, club president Giuseppe Marotta thanked the coach \u201cfor all the work he has done, for the passion he has shown and for the sincerity in our meeting today [Tuesday]\u201d, which led to his departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe time has come to say goodbye to this club after a four-year journey in which I have dedicated myself to the utmost,\u201d wrote Inzaghi, quoted in another statement published on Inter\u2019s website. \u201cEvery day, my first and last thoughts were dedicated to Inter,\u201d continued the coach, before highlighting \u201cthe professionalism and passion of the players, the directors and every employee of the club\u201d. \u201cI want to dedicate a few last words to the millions of fans (\u2026) I will never forget you. \u2018Forza, Inter!\u2019,\u201d he concluded. Saturday\u2019s defeat was the second in a Champions League final for Inzaghi and Inter in the last three editions.
