In the Copa Libertadores, Boca was eliminated in the preliminary round, at Bombonera, by Alianza Lima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Buenos Aires club is the second most successful team in the tournament, with six trophies. Despite the setbacks, Boca leads Group A of the first phase of the Argentine Championship, with 32 points in 15 rounds. There were ten wins, two draws and three losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A former defensive midfielder with spells at Real Madrid and the Argentine national team, Gago took over at Boca in October 2024.
