The most expensive signing was Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt and signed a contract until 2029. According to the English press, he cost the Citizens 75 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to him, City secured the signing of midfielder Nico Gonz\u00e1lez from Porto for 60 million euros, as well as defenders Khusanov, Vitor Reis, and Juma Bah, who came from Lens, Palmeiras, and Valladolid for 40 million euros, 37 million euros, and 6 million euros, respectively. The club also acquired left-back Christian McFarlane from New York City FC on a free transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pep Guardiola\u2019s team\u2019s expenditures made the Premier League the highest-spending league in the winter transfer window, with a total of 475.5 million euros spent on new signings. City alone was responsible for 45% of that amount. This figure represents a 254% increase compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gap between the Premier League and other leagues is also significant. In second place, Italy\u2019s Serie A was the next highest spender, with 228.7 million euros, followed by France\u2019s Ligue 1 with 201.8 million euros, driven mainly by Kvaratskhelia\u2019s transfer to PSG. Germany\u2019s Bundesliga spent 169.8 million euros, while the English Championship, the country\u2019s second division, rounded out the top five with 91.5 million euros in expenditures.
