A familiar face for Internacional fans is looking to return for one final dance. It\u2019s the striker Leandro Dami\u00e3o, who is negotiating a return to Internacional to finish his career. Without a club since leaving Coritiba in mid-2024, the 35-year-old forward is already in talks with the club\u2019s president, Alessandro Barcellos. Dami\u00e3o received interest from other clubs but expressed that his dream is to play one last time for Internacional in what would be his third stint with the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy desire today is only to return to Internacional. I try not to listen to the other proposals I\u2019ve had. I spoke to the president. My desire is to go back to Inter. My idea has always been to finish my career at Inter, the club that gave me my start,\u201d he told ge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dami\u00e3o first joined Colorado in 2009, playing for the B team after being discovered at Atl\u00e9tico de Ibirama. His opportunism and commitment in training earned him a spot in the first team the following year, where he made a name for himself by scoring in the Libertadores final against Chivas, securing Internacional\u2019s second continental title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following year was the best of his career. In 51 matches, the striker scored 40 goals and provided six assists, a performance that earned him a call-up to the Brazilian national team. He shone in the 2012 London Olympics, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals and winning a silver medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2013, he was sold to the Doyen Sports investment fund, which transferred him to Santos. After that, he played for Cruzeiro, Betis, and Flamengo, before returning to Internacional in 2017. He was a key player in the 2017 S\u00e9rie B campaign, which helped the team return to the top flight of Brazilian football. His second stint lasted until 2018, when he was transferred to Kawasaki Frontale in Japan, where he stayed until 2023.
