The president of Corinthians, Augusto Melo, announced on Tuesday night that goalkeeper Hugo Souza, who is on loan from Flamengo, will remain at the S\u00e3o Paulo club in 2025. The player\u2019s loan contract with Tim\u00e3o is set to expire at the end of this year, but Corinthians has the priority to buy him at the end of the agreement. In October, shortly after his arrival, the club’s management informed Flamengo that they would be acquiring him permanently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make this happen, Corinthians will need to pay around R$5 million<\/strong>, which can be split into four installments until June 2026. The final deadline for the negotiation is November 30<\/strong> this year. However, the initial offer was rejected by Flamengo, as the guarantor was the same one involved in the transfer of Matheuzinho. At the time, Tim\u00e3o delayed part of the payment for R$8 million<\/strong>. Nonetheless, Augusto Melo expressed confidence and wanted to reassure the Corinthians fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
