The multi-champion fullback, who had previously won numerous titles with Real Madrid, returned to his home club in early 2023. The tipping point for the decision came after an argument between the player and coach Mano Menezes during last Friday’s match against Gr\u00eamio. According to reports and footage, Marcelo allegedly refused to follow the coach\u2019s instructions, prompting a firm reaction from Mano, who then decided not to field the player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources within the club revealed that Mano informed the board he would no longer work with Marcelo after the incident and received support from some team leaders, who were already frustrated with the player’s attitude. The club quickly acted on this and announced the termination of the contract the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also reports that the multi-champion player mistreated even club staff members and, according to many players, lacked commitment and understanding of the current situation at Fluminense, who are battling relegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
