He will lead the team starting next Tuesday and has signed a contract until December 2025. Joining him are assistants Eduardo Barros and Wagner Bertelli. This disappointing result added to two months of instability and poor performances following a strong start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after announcing Seabra&#8217;s dismissal, the Cruzeiro board acted quickly and announced Diniz&#8217;s appointment, who will be in charge for the upcoming match against Libertad on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Copa Sul-Americana. In the first leg, Cruzeiro won 2-0 in Paraguay, putting them in a strong position for qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Diniz had been without a club since his dismissal from Fluminense in July after a series of poor results that left the team at the bottom of the Brazilian Championship. He ended a lengthy tenure at Fluminense that began in 2022, during which he won the 2023 Copa Libertadores, the 2024 Recopa Sudamericana, and a Carioca title.
